Removed old windows and frames. The old windows are out. Open hole.
Scraped area where old windows were affixed.
Began taping on outside of house, where the new windows will be affixed with Dow 795.
Upper right, cutting round corners for the outside taping. The round corners adhere loosely to the outside of the window, they will be removed and placed on the outside of the house. To the left, removing protective paper from inside of the window.
New window lying inside up on chart table, which is covered with plastic sheeting protection. The paper protective coating has been removed from the side facing upward, which will be inside of the boat. Note bead of adhesive around the area that will overlap with the house when window is fitted into place on the outside of the house. The bead of adhesive on the inside will mix with that on the outside of house when the window is fit into place. The window is opaque because the protective paper covering has been left in place on the outside of the window, which is facing downward.
Two replacement windows pressed into place and held for curing of adhesive by sand filled bags. Note the protective paper covering on the outside of the windows.
Adhesive forced out of the bond and onto the inside of the window. This extra adhesive will be removed with a rounded edge plastic spatula. Remaining adhesive cleaned off with rubbing alcohol.
Finished window with plastic frame supplied by Cruising Concepts.
