Window Replacement C38

  Original aluminum framed windows. After 35 years they leaked badly.  Bought replacement package from cruisingconcepts.com Removed old windows and frames. The old windows are out. Open hole. Scraped area where old windows were affixed. Began taping on outside of house, where the new windows will be affixed with Dow 795. More taping. Note untaped area around hole where the adhesive will be applied. Plastic sheeting all over the place. The adhesive has legs and will find itself far from where you place it (ugh). The wood pieces were for holding the new window in place. Wood blocks taped in place for holding new window on spot.                                                        Adhesive.                          Adhesive applied to outside...

Tinea occidentella at the Bodega Marine Reserve

Larva of T. occidentella emerging from silk tube. Coyote scat with many larval tubes of T. occidentella extending outward into the sand. At the end of each tube is a pupal case from which has emerged a moth . Coyote scat with larval tubes of T. occidentella. The scat has been lifted from the sand and laid upon its edge to show the distance down into the sand that the tubes have been built. Coyote hunting voles, Bodega Marine Reserve.
